After auditing one website after another there are a few key takeaways that I think are super important for any small business owner.
One stands out above the rest…
You don’t need to have EVERYTHING on your website!
From coaches, barbers, and small business owners, you really only need 5 pages on your site. Sometimes only a one(1) page scroll will do.
Here are the pages that you need:
#1 Home Page
First, let’s start with the basics, shall we?
Your home page should be sweet and simple.
Only a few images and text on a rotator that tells people exactly what you do and for who.
Then a short bio of who your or the company is.
Show off some testimonials.
And the most important thing, a call to action. Give your visitors a reason to interact, call you, become a potential client.
#2 About Us
The next page is again straight forward and has two major parts.
An actual bio on the company or you if you are a sole prop business owner.
And then a call to action so again you potential website visitors can convert into a potential client.
Your services!! This is important. This is an actual tool you will use…
If you are a service based business or sell off of your website you need to use special tools built into your site (like these).
Those tools will add visitors to your CRM or even sell directly to them on your site depending on your price points.
Take time to plan out your services. What is your upsell and down sell offer would be on the website?
The all-important blog, a lot of service based companies and those that have a brick and mortar biz think blogs do not apply to them.
I’m here to tell you that you are wrong.
Blogging is an essential part of your SEO and marketing efforts.
This will help you build ranking on google and give your readers an understanding that you are an expert in your field.
If you don’t want to create a blog post for yourself, then I highly recommend you hire someone remotely or on Fiverr to create content for you.
Oh, this one is a doozy if done wrong…
You need a contact form. That hopefully adds the name to a CRM tool.
At the very least it should send you an email with all the correct information.
If this isn’t set up right you are missing out on new potential clients.
